Dolores Smith, 91

On February 26, 2021, Dolores Esther Smith, at the age of 91, of Sandpoint, Idaho, succumbed from a brief illness and left this world to begin her second journey.

She was born in Pacific Beach, California. Her family and close friends affectionately knew her by “Dodie.”

Her hobbies were collecting cookbooks, trying new recipes, and working in her gardens through the years which provided her an immense joy. She loved harvesting what she grew. Through the years, she loved all her pets and especially training her pet parakeets to talk or whistle a special tune. Her numerous cats and dogs brought her great companionship and love over the years. She loved reading cookbooks, and about the good old days. It brought her great comfort to be surrounded by family pictures hanging on the walls of her home. She had three daughters.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Tina Smith (Ray); grandchildren: Lisa Lucchesi (Joel) and children, Miah and Kobe, and Laura HenryJones (Daren) and children, Ally and Antonio. Her daughter, Lori Smith-Gilmour followed her in death on February 28, 2021 leaving behind her husband, Ronald Gilmour; father-in-law, Joseph Gilmour; and her partner, Tony Arnold. Her daughter, Linda Christine Winkler preceded her in death on May 21, 2015. She is survived by sons, Cary Winkler (Rebecca) and Michael Winkler (Rebekah); and daughters, Hannah Gunnyon (Ted) and children: Caleb, Hadassah, Abigail, Keturah; and daughter, Leah Winkler (Carlos) and children: Emilio, Esperanza, Emma and Elyse; and Rachel Sutherland (Brady) and child, Londyn. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and her beloved cat, Frosty. Dolores was also preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte and George Meth; spouse, Edward L. Smith; sisters, Romaine, June, Bertha and Charlotte; and her brothers, Fred and Edward.
