Hauling banned on some county roads

| March 5, 2021 1:00 AM

Hauling restrictions have joined weight limits on some county roads, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said Thursday.

In District 1 — south of the Long Bridge — all roads, with the exception of Old House Road, are posted with weight limits. In addition, no-hauling restrictions were added to Birch Banks, Hanford Drive, E. Comeback Bay and Comeback Bay lanes, Martin Bay, Otts Basin and Gypsy Bay roads.

In District 2 — Priest River and Priest Lake areas — all roads are posted with weight limits with the exception of roads north of Kalispell Bay Road, off of Highway 57. All roads will be posted with weight limits as of 4 p.m. Friday.

Eastriver Road is closed from the 5700 block through the slide area due to lengthy road repairs. Please detour through Eastriver Loop. The Eastriver Loop bridge has weight restrictions of 3.2 tons per axle and a height limit of 12 feet, 1 inch.

In District 3 — Sandpoint and Clark Fork areas — all roads are posted with weight limits, with the exception of those south of the Clark Fork River. However, those roads are posted with green flags, indicating weight limits are imminent. No-hauling restrictions were added to Park Lane, and Shadow Mountain, Milk Creek and Grouse Meadows roads.

Per BCRC Ordinance #422, it shall be the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. These restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
