Muriel “Joyce” Reynolds Boeck, 92, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, surrounded by her family at Luther Park in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Joyce leaves her son, Michael Boeck (Dee) of Sandpoint; daughter, Melanie Hess of Spokane, Washington; granddaughter Alyssa Jacobson (Jeremy) and great-grandchildren Sydney and Henry of Hayden; grandson Justin Boeck and great-granddaughter Isabel of Boise; her brothers, Don and George Reynolds; and sister, Jean Rheinschmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale “Buzz” Boeck of 71 years; parents, Edna and Ray Reynolds; seven brothers and two sisters; and son-in-law, Jim Hess.

Joyce was born on April 16, 1928, in Sandpoint and raised in Kootenai along with her 12 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Sandpoint High School and later married Dale “Buzz” Boeck on March 17, 1948, in the First Presbyterian Church in Sandpoint.

Through the years, Joyce worked at numerous businesses including Sandpoint Furniture and Sears. She was an avid golfer, member of the Women’s Elks Golf Club and well known for her gardening awards at the Bonner County Fair. She enjoyed tole painting, traveling, and regularly participated in little theater.

Buzz and Joyce would spend the winter months in Yuma, Arizona, enjoying golf, dancing, and participating in community musical variety shows. They loved to travel, but when no longer able, settled back in Sandpoint, residing at Luther Park. She continued to enjoy her love of bridge, bingo, and painting but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Luther Park and the wonderful care of Auburn Crest Hospice.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 11 a.m. at The Sandpoint Elks Lodge with Pastor Andy Kennaly of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. A reception will follow at the Elks.
