CF boys tie for eighth at Timberlake Invitational

SPIRIT LAKE — The eight boys on the Clark Fork track team racked up 15 personal records at the Timberlake Invitational on Friday.

The Wampus Cats tied for eighth with league rival Mullan. Eleven teams competed in the meet.

Freshman Wyatt Mintken posted PRs in the 100 and 200, and placed 10th and 14th respectively in the events. He also finished 11th in the 400 and 12th in the long jump.

Sam Barnett continued to be a workhorse in the distance events. He captured third in the 800 and fourth in the 1600 with a PR. He tied for seventh in the high jump.

Joe Bopp was 10th in the 400, 11th in the long jump, 16th in the 200 and 18th in the 100. He ran PRs in the 100, 200 and 400.

Carson Yetter secured 16th in the 400 and 17th in the long jump with PRs. Hank Barnett tied for fifth in the high jump and earned 14th in the 400.

Ryan Matteson grabbed 16th in the 1600 and Nathan Shelton took home 11th in the 800.

The Wampus Cats will compete in the North Star League meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
