Lawrence, Parsons can be trusted to make sound decisions

| May 2, 2021 1:00 AM

On May 18, citizens of Bonner County will have the opportunity to elect members to the Pend Oreille Hospital District Board of Trustees.

A small but critical slice of the county taxes you pay annually funds the Bonner County Hospital District. Funding of the hospital is overseen by the hospital district board. It is utterly essential that this oversight is kept free of politics, free of fringe influence and is focused on the medical well-being of county citizens and the financial wellbeing of Bonner General Health.

Dr. Thomas Lawrence, current president of the board and board member Helen Parsons, have always kept these goals at the forefront of their actions. There is an intense effort to use the May 18 election to place on the board representatives of those county citizens who are anti-tax, anti-maskers and anti-science.

It is essential that we reelect Dr. Thomas Lawrence and Helen Parsons, trustees who have always made and will continue to make decisions based on best medical and financial practices and not on perceived grievances, funding decisions designed to make sure that Bonner County citizens have the best medical opportunities that Bonner General Health can provide.
