Safeway and Albertsons pharmacies are now offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations, with Moderna and the J&J vaccines available at the Sandpoint Safeway location, said public affairs manager Tairsa Worman.

If a patient’s requested vaccine is not available, pharmacy staff will work with the patient and direct them to a location that is administering their preferred vaccine, officials said in a press release.

Appointments can also still be scheduled. Patients who only need their second dose can also contact the pharmacy. It is recommended they still receive the vaccination even if it has been longer than the recommended time lapse after the first dose, according to the release.

“It is still very beneficial for the people to receive their second dose,” the release stated. “Patients must bring their vaccine card to their second dose appointment.”

Second appointments will automatically be scheduled after a patient’s first dose. Those who wish to schedule an appointment can do so at www.mhealthcheckin.com. All patients who receive their vaccine at a Safeway or Albertsons pharmacy will receive a coupon for 10% off their groceries at each appointment.
