WORLEY — After day one of the 2A state golf tournament, Clark Fork junior Cole Reuter sits in a tie for 10th.

Reuter shot an eight-over-par 80 on Monday at the Circling Raven Golf Club. He is 11 strokes off the lead held by Cole Valley's Parker Wallace.

Reuter is tied for 10th with St. Maries' Seth Swallows. A week ago, Reuter beat Swallows by one stroke to claim the 2A District 1-2 title.

Head coach Brian Arthun said Reuter struggled a bit on the front nine with a 43, but he bounced back with three birdies on the back to finish strong.

Arthun said windy conditions definitely impacted Reuter on Monday.

"It affected his driving a little bit because normally he can really get it out there, but the wind took it [out of bounds] a couple times," he said.

As a freshman in 2019, Reuter tied for sixth at state and he will look to top that finish during the final round Tuesday.
