Dad was born in Pine City, Minnesota. At age 17 he joined the United States Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War.

Dad was discharged at Camp Pendleton, San Diego. He met the love of his life, Patricia Zani. They married and had five daughters. Dad went to work for GTE in Santa Monica. He worked for GTE until he retired.

Dad's best friend, Frank Antonich, whom he knew growing up in Minnesota, was also working in California during that time, and the two went hunting. Dad said they were both so disappointed that they both transferred to Idaho.

Dad was very passionate about hunting and fishing and had a great love for the outdoors. For many years, Dad's brother, Leslie, would come from Minnesota, and they would pack in to the St. Joe country to hunt elk and would set up the "Plastic Palace." Everyone who knew Dad knew about the "Plastic Palace." These were Dad's fondest memories. He also enjoyed rock hounding and found many treasures.

Everyone knew Dad as a hard worker and enjoyed his company. People enjoyed listening to Dad's life stories and experiences. They also enjoyed his sense of humor.
