PRIEST RIVER — At the Oct. 18 Priest River city council meeting, Police Chief Drew McLain reminded those in attendance to lock up hunting equipment and weapons as winter crime picks up.

He said that as hunting season takes off every year there is an increase of vehicles being broken into as robbers look for unattended weapons and hunting supplies.

“Please don’t leave weapons unattended in unlocked cars,” said McLain.

The chief said that although theft is not common in Priest River that residents should be aware.
