Priest River hosts Ivan Benson Invitational

PRIEST RIVER — The Priest River cross country team hosted the Ivan Benson Invitational on Tuesday.

Six teams competed in the 5K meet, including four Intermountain League schools. Immaculate Conception Academy grabbed the boys title and Bonners Ferry secured first on the girls side.

McKenna Kozeluh from Coeur d'Alene Charter took first in the girls race and Connor Alexander from Bonners Ferry won the boys race.

Priest River still didn't have enough runners to score as a team in either race.

Annie Morrell recorded a personal best of 24:06 to take fifth in the girls race.

Dylan Lord ran a season best of 19:03 to earn ninth on the boys side. Dalton Brown was 17th and Tanner Bowers 19th out of 41 runners. They both posted PRs.

The Spartans travel to Pinehurst Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 30 to compete in the Ben Castro Invitational.
