Instructor-lead hunter ed classes return

| April 6, 2022 1:00 AM

After almost two years off, instructor-lead hunter education and bow education classes are being offered again in Sandpoint.

Hunter education classes are open to students age nine or older and junior hunting licenses are available starting at age 10.

A hunter/bow education combination class will be offered April 23-30, June 20-25, Aug. 22-27 and Sept. 19-24.

A bow education only class will be held April 16-17 and a hunter education only class will be held in Clark Fork depending on instructor availability.

Courses provide instruction beyond just firearm handling and safety. Topics include hunting techniques and ethics, game care, survival skills, and wildlife identification. Even if your son or daughter is unsure if they will hunt, instructors provide a welcoming environment for kids to learn more about this fun and exciting sport. Lessons will benefit anyone who spends time in the outdoors.

Sign-up for all classes is online at idfg.idaho.gov/hunt/education. Those interested will be redirected to the Idaho Fish & Game vendor website, Kalkomey, for payment. For all Panhandle classroom-style courses, click on “Hunter & Bowhunter Certification: Instructor-led” at the top of the page.
