Weight restrictions continue in county

SANDPOINT — While the end of the month is in sight, weight restrictions continue to remain in effect on many county roads, Bonner County Road & Bridge officials said.

That means no early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County maintained road posted with weight limits.

• District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — The following roads are still posted with weight limits; Eichs Road, Willford Road, Jewel Lake Road, Ferry Road, Hill Drive, Hubbard Lane, Sunset Road, W. Garfield Bay, Churchill Road, Sagle Creek Road, Gold Mountain Drive, Merril Martin and Talache Rd from E Dufort to the lake.

The following roads are still posted as “no hauling:" Schneiders, Whitetail Trail, Comeback Bay, E Comeback Bay, Birch Banks, Hanford Drive, Birch Haven, Sweeney Drive, Hanley Lane, and Bella Circle.

All other roads have been lifted.

• District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — The following roads are still posted with weight limits; all roads north of Dickensheet on both the west and east side of Priest Lake. All other roads have been lifted.• District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — The following roads are still posted with weight limits: Baldy Mountain Road from Janish Drive to the 13500 block, (county turnaround) Trestle Creek Road, Upper Pack from Caribou Creek to the snowmobile turnaround, Caribou Creek Road, W. Spring Creek, Cabinet Gorge and Dry Creek. The following roads are still posted as “no hauling:" Rapid Lightning from Upper Gold Creek going NE and Upper Gold Creek.

All other roads have been lifted.

As a reminder, a red flag or no flag on the sign indicates weight limits are in effect.

Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
