SANDPOINT — The Idaho Film Company, an independent film production company based in Sandpoint, is hosting an open casting call for an upcoming short film, "Burden of the Wolf", set to film in the Sandpoint area fall 2022.

TIFC is seeking four young adults, two female and two male, between the ages of 15 and 25 to cast in the key roles of the short. Interested actors should plan to attend the casting event at the East Bonner County Library – Community Room B, on Saturday, Aug. 20 between 10 a.m. and noon. Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"Burden of the Wolf" is a feature-length screenplay currently in development, which includes producing a proof of concept short to aid the fundraising pitch. Producing one selected scene from the screenplay will show style and quality goals and festival consideration.

“The Idaho Film Company’s goal is to create a viable independent film production company based in Sandpoint,” TIFC founder Jimmy Matlosz said. “Ultimately, we plan to produce two feature length films a year, to help create additional jobs and revenue in Bonner County.”

Matlosz said the film tells what happens after a teen in a small town is killed in the forest by a wild wolf-like animal. An ambitious deputy sheriff has to navigate the misguided pursuits of her wolf-hating boss, while four4 local teens devise a plan to solve the mystery of their friend's untimely death.
