Egotistical politicians are a dime a dozen

| January 4, 2022 1:00 AM

Egotistical politicians who want to take our rights away have come out of the woodwork and are a dime a dozen these days. Apparently they think we can’t live without them.

This is what I believe Sandpoint citizens like Dean Cannon are so frustrated about after I read his letter (Daily Bee, Nov. 23, 2021). And he’s so (far-) right that many people are “fed up” with lectures from the likes of Sandpoint Mayor Shelby Rognstad.

Cannon's passionate words seem to indicate there’s real personal suffering, which has happened under the rule of Rognstad. As for the non-sequitur mentioned, I think he suggests that the mayor take a good look in the mirror.

So then while commonsense people like Dean Cannon express a desire for "strong borders" and "sensible trade deals," the opposite occurs. Because we now learn there’s not much constructive about progress though methods of Machiavellian Marxism.

Yet Dean still demands answers to questions like how long, how far, who’s who, and what are certain definitions. But cowardly and privileged politicians like Shelby won’t have any answers or relief for Dean. Let me ask: How does one "fill in the blank" to their gaslighting of constituents? Rognstad can't, and he won't.

Fortunately Shelby Rognstad’s statewide run for governor won’t be much more than a message campaign. At this level, the best he’ll be able to accomplish will be the implementation of fancy words and woke slogans to be placed on banners and bumper stickers.

Stay tuned.
