Commissioners' misappropriation needs to be addressed

The potential ice arena contract is an unbelievably bad contract for Bonner County taxpayers. This contract is so poorly written, policies so muddled and misrepresented that even a child could see the fallacies.

The explanation given by Commissioner Dan McDonald on this contract was nothing more than a smokescreen to distract from legitimate concerns. He was, however, quick to point fingers, degrade other departments and try to silence those who dare to ask questions or challenge these decisions.

The other two commissioners did not respond to the concerns. Their silence speaks volumes. Either our county commissioners are ignorant and have never executed a contract and have no clue what they are doing. Or they know exactly what they are doing and are purposefully taking part in a seriously underhanded and shady business deal.

Whenever one feels the need to create a smokescreen, lay blame on another and silence those who ask questions it is to distract from the truth. There is absolutely zero accountability with these men. If our county commissioners do know how to intelligently negotiate a commonsense contract, that leaves the door wide open. We the people are being deceived and the Commissioners are illegally giving away the people’s land. We need to demand accountability; transparency and this land needs to be returned to the county. This is just one more example of how our county commissioners consistently ignore the will of the people and twist the law.
