Robert “Big Bob” Avery

Robert “Big Bob” Avery died tragically while using a grader to plow snow Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the age of 69.

Bob was born December 8, 1952, to Norma (Glidden) and Leroy in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he and his brother Ken grew up. He moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1979 and married Joan (Leichtman) September 8, 1979.

Throughout his life, he worked in tree planting, construction, logging and then started Big Bob’s Landscaping. He loved fishing, skiing, camping, and most of all going for long adventures on his BMW motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Luke and Sara (Eric); grandchildren, Aden and Danika; and brother, Ken (Deb). He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Roy.

A memorial service will be held at the Sandpoint Seventh-day Adventist Church, at 11 a.m., Sunday, January 16, 2022.
