June 7, 1972 – SHS EDITOR ANNOUNCED

Mr. Bob Hamilton, Cedar Post adviser, announced junior Peggy Kellogg as next year’s Cedar Post editor. Others named were Jim Carlson, asst. editor; Eddie Sue Judy and Hanna Munson, news editors; Mark Lyons, sports editor; Mike Borden, asst. sports editor; Denise Raineri and Ken Danielson, distribution managers; and Jack Thompson, business manager.

RECEIVES NURSING DEGREE

Mrs. Gloriane Hamann received an A.A. degree in Nursing from North Idaho College on May 26. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin C. Bloom of Kootenai, she has four grown children and two grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Osman (Cindy Hamann) have a 9 lb. 8½ oz. son, James Clancy, born at Richmond, Calif. May 26. Grandparents are Mrs. Ann Hamann, Kootenai, and Mr. and Mrs. James Osman, Sandpoint.

TWINS HOLD TOP POLITICAL OFFICES AT SHS

For the first time ever, twins were elected to the top offices of the SHS student body: Duane and Dennis Peterson, the youngest of six children in the Robert Pederson family of Colburn. Duane is ASB president, Dennis is vice-president. Secretary is Linda Holbert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Holbert of Kootenai Bay.

June 7, 1922 – RESIGNS AS STATE SENATOR

Andrew Christenson, following his appointment and confirmation as postmaster at Laclede, has resigned as state senator from this county. He received a letter from Gov. Davis last week accepting his resignation and expressing appreciation of Christenson’s work in the senate the two terms he represented Bonner county. No candidate has yet announced his candidacy to succeed Senator Christenson.

BIG DEMAND FOR FORD CARS

The City garage has made 83 automobile deliveries since the first of January, including six Buicks, 14 Dodge cars and three Fordson tractors, the balance being Ford cars and showing increased sales in the enclosed models, sedans and coupes. Ford motor co. is turning out a better product today than ever before.

Miss Clara Bradley (Note: later Mrs. Clara McCoy), who graduated high school last week, is in Spokane to enroll at a business college for a summer course.

Sires & Sires have installed a pumping system at their Sunnyside ranch to pump water from the lake to irrigate their strawberry and other garden patches.

The chamber of commerce good roads committee will meet with the county commissioners today to take up means of improving the Talache road by graveling.
