There may not be snow on the ground, however; that’s not going to prevent Schweitzer from hosting events throughout the summer.

The resort will host its third annual “Race the Wolf” Ultra Trail Marathon this weekend June 25-26.

According to Schweitzer’s website, Race the Wolf is an ultramarathon and trail race series that’ll come equipped with a course for everyone.

There are three different distances; a 52K ultramarathon; a 26K, and an 8K on Saturday and Sunday.

Drop bags will be located at the Clock Tower mile 14.5. All participants are responsible for their own drop bags.

An athlete's time starts when they cross the mat. Run sign-up results will be posted online and at the finish line.

There will be athlete support stations that include water, sport drinks, food, gels, and self-support between stations. Medical support will also be available on the course.

Awards will be given out 1-3 overall and 1-3 in each age group. All finishers will take home a Race the Wolf finisher T-shirt.

Spectators can watch the race at the roundabout, Clock Tower, or at the Sky House with a lift ticket.

The course includes steep climbs on a single track with some fast two-track set-ups.

The race will stretch from Lake Pend Oreille to Montana and the Canadian Border.

The first event of the Ultramarathon on Saturday, June 25 will be the 8K race with a 710’ vertical.

Athletes interested in competing in the 8K race will be asked to check in at 9 a.m. at the Mountain View Patio. The race will begin at 11 a.m. at the clocktower.

The sky climb will take place on the same day with check in also taking place at 9 a.m.

The race will also begin at the clocktower at 3 p.m.

Sunday will have three races throughout the day with the festivities beginning bright and early.
