Elks to hold annual tourney July 9

The Sandpoint Elks Lodge will be holding the Annual Elks Memorial Golf Tournament (previously known as the B&B Golf Tournament) on Saturday July 9.
All money raised during this event will be used to improve the golf course. This season, the lodge plans on finishing hole number three and, fixing the mound by the trees on hole number six, as well as starting a practice facility on the course.
In 1948 the golf course land was deeded to the Sandpoint Elks Lodge for the benefit of the public golf course.
Since then, with continued improvements over the years and financial support from the Elks Lodge, the course has become a true community asset for all to enjoy.
The group is also looking for donations, hole sponsors, and prizes to give away to first, second and third place winners.
Whoever finishes in last place will get a group lesson with PGA pro and Sandpoint High School golf coach Mike Deprez.
A meal will also be included along with a horse race and a silent auction.
