Weight limits added to roads
With warmer temperatures, weight limits are making an appearance in the county. No early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County maintained road posted with weight limits.
District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — All roads will be posted with weight limits by 2 p.m. Friday, March 4. A red flag or no flag on the sign indicates weight limits are in effect.
District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — The following roads will be posted with weight limits by 2 p.m. Friday, March 4: All roads south of the Pend Oreille River, all roads in Laclede south of U.S. 2, Smith Creek Road, E. Settlement Road and E. Thama Drive. A red flag or no flag on the sign indicates weight limits are in effect.
District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All roads have been posted with green flags indicating weight restrictions are imminent.
Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
