The number of roads with weight limits is growing.

No early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County maintained road posted with weight limits.

  • District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — The following roads are posted with weight limits: All roads south of the Pend Oreille River, all roads in Laclede south of U.S. 2, Smith Creek Road, E. Settlement Road and E. Thama Drive.

The following roads will be posted with red flags by today, March 5: Freeman Lake Road, Langille Canyon, Holly Glenn Road, Shannon Lane, Barrett Road and Stone Johnny Roads. Effective Monday, March 7, all roads south of Dickensheet not already posted with weight limits will be posted with green flags, followed by red flags on Tuesday morning.

  • District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All roads are posted with weight restrictions.

As a reminder, a red flag or no flag on the sign indicates weight limits are in effect.

Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
