KUNA — After playing in the less than ideal conditions that North Idaho has to offer all season, Clark Fork senior Cole Reuter competed under sunny skies at the Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna for the first day of the Class 2A Idaho state golf tournament.

Reuter finished the first 18 holes with a score of 80.

"He did really well," Clark Fork golf coach Brian Arthun said. "He started out a little slow in the first nine holes."

Reuter finished the front nine with a score of 41. He took two strokes off during the back nine, shooting a 39.

The first round was a product of Retuer getting used to the course. His putting suffered a bit during the process.

"The greens were pretty fast," Arthun said. "Putting was a bit of an issue for him. He didn't get any birdies, but he got a lot of pars."

According to Arthun, Reuter's drives were on point throughout the first 18 holes.

Reuter broke his driver during the district 1 tournament, but that didn't seem to make much of a difference in his play.

Reuter will be back in action today at the Falcon Crest Golf Course for the second day of the Class 2A Idaho state golf tournament.
