| May 24, 2022 1:00 AM

Buz (Plumis) Walter Moore Jr. died peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 60 in Sandpoint, Idaho, with his loving family by his side.

Buz was born December 15, 1961, in Missoula, Montana, to Dorothy Marie (Goodman) Moore and Buz (Plumis) Walter Moore Sr. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Alaska where Buz spent his childhood living an adventurous life all over the state. He loved to tell stories of hunting, fishing and running trap-lines in his youth. Buz also learned the value of hard work at a young age, working for the family logging business, he attended school up to the eighth grade, after which he went to work full time. His work ethic was unprecedented and is instilled in his family.

At age 16, Buz moved to Idaho, where he met his first wife, Tracie Fleming. The two were married on September 9, 1980, and together loved and raised six children in Worley and Plummer, Idaho.

In 2010, Buz moved to Clark Fork, Idaho, where he later met and married his second wife and best friend, Nicole Jeffres, and together made many memories along with her three boys.

Buz ran a successful excavation business and took pride in being self-employed so that he could spend time with his loved ones. This was work he truly enjoyed and you could see him smiling while he ran his dozer and backhoe. He was one of the lucky ones who got to work at something he loved.

Buz had many talents that he enjoyed, such as welding, mechanic work, logging, engineering, carpentry, boxing, butchering, hunting, fishing, singing, sewing, baking, and cooking. He loved to learn and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do or fix. One of the toughest men out there, he was also one of the most caring. Buz loved to spend time with his family and friends, teaching and sharing his talents.

Buz was a man of strong faith who believed in God and his Savior Jesus Christ. He spent much of his life helping others and trying to do good in the places he lived. He loved his country and was a true patriot.

Buz is survived by his children, Christina Lopez, Susan Moore, Jenifer (Trevor) Darnold, Kaela (Andrew) Burgess, Sean (Dani) Moore, and Meghan Moore; as well as his 27 grandchildren; his siblings, Jo Ann Acuna, Jack Martin, Rose Orthman, Sheri Reed, Rick Moore, Rox-Ann Henley, and Shannon Wright.

He was preceded in death by his son, Buz (Plumis) Walter Moore III; his grandson, Seth Young; his mother, Dorothy Marie (Goodman) Moore; and his father, Buz (Plumis) Walter Moore Sr.
