Joe Biden’s speech and America’s soul

| September 29, 2022 1:00 AM

Lincoln's second inaugural was given during the grinding Civil War. In it he said: “With malice toward none, with charity for all …” He did not disparage his opponents or his political enemies.

Here is the "extreme" MAGA agenda Biden warns us about: secure borders, election integrity, energy independence, tough on crime, pro-life, ending child genital mutilation, parents first, school choice, follow the Constitution.

In the last six decades America has fractured along every fault line imaginable: the sexes, family, generational, ethnic, race, culture, etc. These are real problems which affect us all. If the issue is not each other than who is? Our biggest clue may be those people who never seem to go away.

Lincoln said a house divided cannot stand. But today's politics is about squatting where "diverse communities” have nothing in common except to enable a system of dependency. Powerful forces beyond politics also want to control our lives. Blackrock "forces behaviors" because it controls $10 trillion in assets. Facebook influences elections. Objecting is called fascism. When 1% of America owns more than 60% of its wealth can we trust those who created this situation to fix it? Only we the people do, which is why we are kept divided.

For those who see MAGA "extremism" as a threat; you may be beyond reach. The America that knows better won't be silenced. Never has a speech from an American president looked so menacing, sounded so desperate or suggested such violence all in the name of "democracy."
