Strikers score second at Pend Oreille Cup

SANDPOINT — The 2012 boys Strikers netted second place for their age group at the annual Pend Oreille Cup home tournament, which ended Sunday, Sept. 11.
The team played well, dominating the first game against Spokane’s 90+ Project 8-1, tying the second game against Kalispel’s Glacier Surf 2-2, and winning the third game against the Spokane Football Club 2-1.
Due to air quality, the final game had to be canceled and instead a shootout was held. The Strikers lost the shootout 5-1 against Glacier Surf.
