Youth orchestra classes teach sweet music

| September 30, 2022 1:00 AM

While The Festival at Sandpoint Youth Orchestra Classes started Monday, there’s always room for more. So, if you know of a student who is looking to broaden their skills and knowledge in orchestral strings instruments, this may be the class for them.

The Festival at Sandpoint offers free orchestral strings classes for students of any age. There is a Beginning Orchestra Class for students who are still getting started but have a basic knowledge of their instrument. The Continuing Orchestra Class is for students looking to broaden their skills and knowledge and have prior experience playing in a group setting. Students in the Beginning Class typically move to the Continuing Orchestra Class after one year. Both groups are open to any orchestral string players including the violin, viola, cello, bass and more.

Classes are held weekly on Monday evenings. There will be concerts and performances held throughout the year that are open to the community.

If students are in need of or are looking for instrument rentals, please contact the Festival at Sandpoint’s office to see if they have any in stock. Instrument rentals are available to students of all ages and are at a first-come-first-serve basis. The Festival currently has a wide variety of instruments including violins, basses, cellos, electric guitars, bass guitars, trumpets, horns, and much more. Contact their office if you are looking for a specific instrument or have questions about rentals.

If you would like to learn more about joining the Youth Orchestra or renting an instrument, please contact paul@festivalatsandpoint or call 208-265-4554.
