Let's come together, support our students

I am writing in support of the WBCSD supplemental levy. It is time for our community to come together and do what is best for students. It is time to get over all the negativity and start supporting our schools.

I have worked and volunteered in all of the schools. I have seen firsthand an overwhelming majority of staff going above and beyond what they are “paid” for. And I’ve seen how dedicated they are to the success of each of their students

The reality is that the state of Idaho does not fully fund public schools. And yet public schools must take ALL students, where they are, and provide them with all the accommodations and help needed to be successful.

Take a look around at the numerous business owners, professionals, laborers, and hard-working members of our community. A majority of them are graduates from West Bonner County School District. Our district does an amazing job with limited resources. It is time for our community to step up and put a value on education.

Vote yes. Remember, it is not just about the money. In fact, our levy is one of the smallest levies in the state It is about what is best for our kids. And a fully funded, well-rounded education is what is best!
