Water main work prompts road closure

DOVER — A water main construction project in the city will require temporary road closures on Railroad Avenue near the intersection of Mill Road.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, some work will be done with no expected road closures, Dover officials said. However, there will likely be temporary road closures on Railroad Avenue on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Dover officials said the project's contractor will have signs directing traffic through alternative routes. Residents should heed all signs and directions from traffic control staff, they added.

In addition to temporary road detours, a brief water service interruption is expected Thursday, Dec. 19, for the final water connection to be completed. Residents along Mill Road can expect to be without water service for approximately eight hours on that date.
