Hagadone Marine Group acquires Murphy Marine

| July 7, 2024 1:00 AM

Hagadone Marine Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of Murphy Marine Construction Inc. assets on Lake Coeur d'Alene. This acquisition represents a significant expansion of Hagadone Marine Group’s capabilities, allowing for enhanced marine services and internal project completion.

The newly acquired assets adjacent to Blackwell Island Marina include 145 new wet slips, increasing Hagadone Marine’s total to 1,611 slips on Lake Coeur d’Alene. This strategic location perfectly complements Hagadone Marine’s operations and vision for regional growth.

Craig Brosenne, president of Hagadone Marine Group, shared his enthusiasm for the acquisition. "We are excited to integrate Murphy Marine's assets into our operations. This acquisition enhances our service capabilities and underscores our commitment to providing premier on-water experiences. It also enables us to complete significant internal work, ensuring our docks and marinas meet the highest standards."

This acquisition is significant due to the longstanding relationship between Hagadone Marine Group and the Murphy family. Fred Murphy was crucial in building The Coeur d'Alene Resort's Floating Boardwalk Marina. Skip Murphy will assume an advisory role for Hagadone, and his son, Shaughn, will join the Hagadone Marine team in a lead role, while Mike Jensen and the Murphy crew will retain their positions as dock builders within the company.

"The Murphys are more than business partners; they are part of our extended family," Brosenne said. "This rich history and mutual respect make this transition a natural and heartfelt progression."

With Murphy Marine Construction Inc.'s assets now part of Hagadone Marine Group, the company will focus on internal repair and rebuilding of owned and operated docks to ensure they meet Hagadone Marine’s high standards of excellence.

This acquisition reflects Hagadone Marine Group's dedication to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. The company is excited about this new chapter and is committed to setting the standard for excellence in the marine industry.
