Morris kicks off Festival's second week

| July 31, 2024 1:00 AM

One of the leading voices in music, Maren Morris has a powerhouse voice. Add in incredible vocal stylings and songwriting chops, sheer talent, and you get a concert that's not to be missed.

Morris will be featured on the Festival stage today, July 31.

In addition to a Grammy win and 17 nominations, Morris has won five ACM Awards, five CMA Awards, and three Billboard Music Awards, with several additional wins and nominations. She has also broken streaming records, performed on late-night TV multiple times, guest-hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and sold out iconic venues across the globe.

Morris has released three critically acclaimed albums — "Hero" in 2016, "Girl" in 2019, and "Humble Quest" in 2022 — as well as her hit collaboration, “The Middle,” with Zedd in 2018. Most recently, Morris shared "The Bridge," an EP featuring two new songs, "The Tree" and "Get the Hell Out of Here," and played a series of sold-out fan club shows to celebrate.

Opening for Morris is singer-songwriter Delacey, who is winning fans and recognition as a master of moody songcraft, smoky vocals, clever lyrics, an innate gift for melody and a less-is-more approach that sets a timeless mood.

The Grammy-nominated, Los Angeles-based songwriter and artist stepped out center stage with her debut album, "Black Coffee," a mix of emotions set within soulful songs that telegraphed toughness and vulnerability, with standout tracks "Subway Song" and "My Man." She followed with last year's "The Girl Has A Dream," a powerful, lush and unapologetically dark sophomore album.

The concert is a seated show, meaning that the area in front of the stage is general admission and is short chair and blanket seating only. Early entry and sponsor gates open at 5:45 p.m.; general admission and season pass gates open at 6 p.m. Music begins at 7:30 p.m.

Free parking is available at Sandpoint High School, 410 S. Division and a free SPOT bus shuttle service to and from Memorial Field runs continuously from 4 to 11 p.m.

The Festival at Sandpoint is a non-profit organization that hosts an annual summer performance series that features a variety of genres, including rock, country, folk, indie, and more. The Festival at Sandpoint’s 41st annual 2024 summer performance series takes place July 25 to Aug. 4 at War Memorial Field, an intimate venue on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.
