Nov. 17, 1974 – L-P MILLS REOPEN
After a four-week shutdown affecting 900 workers, production has again started in L-P mills throughout the area. According to general manager E.R. Knauf, two mills in Trout Creek and Columbia Falls will not resume production. He added that, “unless things change drastically, the mills will operate on a three-week on and one week off basis through the winter.”

INEZ ROUNSVILLE WED THOMAS CARTER
Thomas L. Carter and Inez V. Rounsville were married in Coeur d’Alene Nov. 2. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Pat Carter, 1106½ Oak St., Sandpoint, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Crane, of Oden. A reception was held in the home of the bride’s parents. The couple will reside in Coeur d’Alene where he has a position with Walton Auto Supply.

JAMES RAFTERY IS APPRENTICE BARBER
James Albert Raftery, Clark Fork, was one of four apprentice barbers to be licensed by the Bureau of Occupational Licenses of the Department of Self-Governing Agencies in Boise, following the state barber examination on July 8.

Army Private Duane S. Hoepfer, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald J. Hoepfer, Priest River, has completed a power plant operator mechanic course at the U.S. Army Engineer School, Ft. Belvoir, Va.

Nov. 17, 1949 – FORGEY AND HILDING WIN
Ruth Forgey, 719 North Forest, and Ray L. Hilding, 512 North Sixth, tied for first place in last week’s Pigskin Picks contest, picking 18 winners out of 20, and will each receive $5. Hilding is now even with his wife, who chose enough winners for first place earlier in the contest. Last week’s runners-up included Jack Raynor, Phyllis Bricker, Kenneth Raynor, Severt Erickson, Max Messman, Bill Davis, Roger Olson, Howard Staples, Frank Ferraro, Maxine Levering, Jack Peterson, Thor Verdal, all of Sandpoint, and Mercedes Tremblay of Priest River.

FAMILY BIRTHDAY DINNER FOR LITTLE MISS
A group of relatives and close friends were dinner guests at the Earl Nettleingham’s Oct. 28 for the first birthday of little Laura Ann, their daughter. The little miss received lovely gifts and three birthday cakes made by her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nettleingham and Ann and Shirley, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Finney and Edwin and Alan, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Swenson, great-grandmother Mrs. M.V. [Anna] Nettleingham, great-grandmother Margaret Finney of Kansas, Leo Dingman and the host and hostess.

Mrs. Ethel Brown, accompanied by her son, Robert Kalb, was here from Spokane for the Armistice day weekend. They were the house guests of Mrs. Margaret [nee Kalb] Hunter.
