Sandpoint News-Bulletin Nov. 28, 1974 – STUDEBAKERS TO NOTE 40th Mr. and Mrs. Roy [Deane nee Nesbitt] Studebaker will mark their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception in their home at Sagle from 2 to 4 o’clock on Dec. 1. The open house is being hosted by their children, Mrs. William (Rita Ann) Parker, Mrs. Wayne (Janet) Farley, Mrs. William (Nancy) Robde, Mrs. Jon (Kay) Smock and Roy Dean Studebaker. Mr. and Mrs. Studebaker were married Dec. 3, 1934 in Newport, Wash. They have eight grandchildren. ••• HOUSEWARMING FOR WOODS Bonner County Cattlemen and CowBelles surprised Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wood Nov. 16 with a housewarming party. The Woods were given a floral hanging basket for their new home. Refreshments, including a beautifully decorated cake, were served, then eight tables of pinochle were played. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bandy, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Shadel and Mary Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Judge, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wood, Leonard and Janice, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Westfall, Mr. and Mrs. Art Jasman, Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson and Jill, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wood and Jody, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Woolsey, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Storey, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Crandell and Cathy, Mr. and Mrs. Denny Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Art Burnett, Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Coon, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Francis McNall. 75 Years Ago Sandpoint News-Bulletin Nov. 28, 1949 – CHRISTMAS MAILING HINTS Postmaster Daisy P. Moody officially opened the yuletide season, issuing her annual appeal for early mailing of Christmas greetings and gift packages. All yuletide parcel post should be on its way by Dec. 10 and Christmas cards to other states should be deposited by Dec. 15. Preparations to handle the yuletide rush have already begun. Thousands of bright new postage stamps are on hand, and the postoffice pens are all getting new points. ••• ODEN-SUNNYSIDE NEWS by Mrs. Oliver Long Busy Bee club will meet with Mrs. Alfred Jacobson Thursday, with a covered dish lunch at noon. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wilkinson are the parents of a baby girl born Nov. 14. Mrs. Art Burnett, Mrs. Ira Larkin, Mrs. Mike Zaklan and Mrs. William Kennedy met at Mrs. Oliver Long’s to tie a quilt which will be sold to benefit the P.T.A. A dance will be held at Oden hall Saturday, with music by the Travelers. The proceeds will go to buy a new stage curtain for Oden hall. Mr. and Mrs. John Nohel enjoyed visits with their children this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jeb Best came from Missoula, Mont., and Joe Nohel and little daughter came from Veradale, Wash. Oden Grange celebrated its fourth birthday Friday. The committee serving, Conrad Jacobson, Jack Hickey and Perry Larkin, gave the members a delicious lunch of chili, buns, apple pie and coffee.
