Winter parking rules to begin Dec. 1

| November 29, 2024 1:00 AM

SANDPOINT — After Saturday, Nov. 30, parking on the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses will be prohibited throughout the winter.

The rule helps city officials remove snow from Sandpoint's roads. Vehicles in violation are subject to being towed by the Sandpoint Police Department.

The only area exempt from the even-only rule is Sandpoint’s downtown core. Parking on either side of the street is prohibited for emergency routes.

Additionally, residents are responsible for moving basketball hoops, boats, trailers and other obstructions off the street and to a winter storage location. Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours if 2 inches of snow or more accumulate.

Throughout the winter, all street-parked vehicles must be cleared of snow within 24 hours of any storm to allow plow operators to see vehicles clearly.

Sandpoint’s even-only parking rule will end March 1.
