Donnice Formanek, 79

| October 23, 2024 1:00 AM

Donnice Roe Formanek, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, in Ponderay, Idaho.

Born Donnice Roe Thrush to Roy and Betty Thrush on Dec. 11, 1944. in Clay Center, Kan., and was the oldest of six children. She moved with her family a lot until the family settled in Colorado in 1960.

She married Robert Kern in 1966. They had two children, Wayne and Jalene Kern, both of Ponderay, Idaho.

In 1988, she married Dennis Formanek until his death in 1990.

She worked for the Larimer County Assessor’s Office in Fort Collins, Colo., as a senior assessor specialist for 30 years before retiring in 2018.

In April 2020, she survived a ruptured frontal lobe brain aneurysm. She and her daughter, Jalene, moved to Ponderay to be near her son Wayne, to help care for her.

She enjoyed Idaho very much, as she lived in Caldwell, Idaho, as a child. She was an avid reader, loved to decorate cakes, watch the Broncos, Avalanche, and Rockies win, and spend time with her family.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a kind and faithful friend, and a sassy, but classy, older sister! And boy was she stubborn! She will be greatly missed, but always in our hearts and minds.

She is survived by her two children and her daughter-in-law, Julia Kern, and son-in-law, Steve Jolly; her siblings, Cindy Curtis, Joy Whitesell, Greg Thrush, Brad Thrush, all of whom reside on the front range of Colorado, and Connie Pavloff of Alaska; grandchildren Brandon (Rachel) Kern and Mikayla Kern of Colorado; and one great-grandchild, Willow; six step-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews.

We love you, mom. Give them a good laugh in Heaven, we know you’re there.

Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint is handling the arrangements. Please visit Donnice’s online memorial at lakeviewfuneral.com and sign her guest book.
