What are presidential candidates' views on the issues?

| September 8, 2024 1:00 AM

The mean-spirited Republican convention is over, thank goodness. So what are Trump's views on the following?

• The border and illegal immigration: He ordered the GOP in Congress to kill a bi-partisan bill because it would make President Joe Biden look good.

• Biden's and Harris' support of the Affordable Care Act.

• Food prices. The president has little control over supply, demand, and supply chains.

• Gas prices: Last I heard, they're 50 cents to $1 lower than this time last year, depending on where you live.

• The stock market is at an all-time high, unemployment is low and interest rates will likely go down this month.

• Abortion/healthcare: As Tim Walz said, "Mind your own (darn) business."

• Fracking: Harris says she supports it.

• Buying from China? People have little choice when the companies set up shop there to save a buck. Venezuela? I don't recall the last time I bought something made there.

• Ukraine and the Middle East. I'm sure if we were to ask Putin nicely he would withdraw from Ukraine.

• The Jews and Palestinians: We'll just wave our magic wand and the conflicts that has gone on there for generations will stop, just like they did with past presidents.

• How have presidents of both parties dealt with North Korea since that war in the early 1950s?

• Well, China still hasn't invaded Taiwan in 80 years.

One thing, I'm anxious to see, how a 78-year-old convicted felon who tried instigating an insurrection have a meltdown and begins rambling incoherently, deals with a former prosecutor for 90 minutes, I can't wait.
