Chorale, orchestra set December concerts

| September 27, 2024 1:00 AM

Have you always wanted to sing in a classical music choir?  Perhaps you would like to brush up on your violin playing.

Both are possible with the upcoming Pend Oreille Chorale and String Orchestra concerts, scheduled for December.

The Pend Oreille Chorale and String Orchestra are preparing for their concerts Dec. 13 and Dec. 15. The rehearsals for the chorale will begin Monday, Sept. 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the west classroom of the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Pine Street, and will continue until the concerts.

Music will be provided; please bring a black three-ring binder. The choir alone will perform Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Mabry, and Gjeilo. Strings will accompany pieces by Mark Reiner, Handel, and Mozart. The string orchestra alone will perform pieces by Scarlatti, and Elgar.

The first orchestra rehearsal will be Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the SDA church. Soloists and a string trio will also be included in the program.

More details, including concert venue, will be announced later.

Any questions regarding the Chorale, call 208-946-9306. Questions regarding the orchestra should call 208-603-1277. We hope to see interested singers Monday, Sept. 30, and any interested string players Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m.
