Easter egg hunt set for Sunday
With 10,000 candy-filled eggs on hand, area youngsters will be hopping with excitement as Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church hosts its annual 10,000 Easter EggStravaganza this weekend.
The event will take place on Palm Sunday, April 13, at 11 a.m. sharp.
Church officials and volunteers have been working hard over the last several weeks to collect and fill more than 10,000 plastic eggs with individually wrapped candies and toys.
"This popular event gives everyone the opportunity to practice their egg-finding skills prior to the other events on Easter weekend," Kessin Rasor, office manager at Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, said of the event. "The community is invited to come out and join in the fun."
There will be different categories for children from toddler through 12 years old and the event will be held — rain, snow, or shine.
The hunt generally lasts less than three minutes, so it is recommended to arrive a few minutes early. Additionally, the church youth will be performing a special pageant of the Easter story that morning before the hunt, with service starting at 10 a.m.
There is no cost to join in the egg hunt, and complimentary refreshments will be available for everyone to enjoy.
The church is located at 1900 Pine St. in Sandpoint, across the street from Litehouse YMCA. For questions or more information, go online to www.corsandpoint.org or call the church office at 208-263-7516.
