SANDPOINT — The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce has selected Jack Peterson as the organization’s April Volunteer of the Month.

Peterson is the associate station manager/programming at KRFY. He has been the co-host of the Thursday Morning Show since 2014 and co-host of North Idaho News of the Week since 2023. All of the hours he contributes of airtime are volunteer hours and Peterson has become a truly integral part of the station as we know it, chamber officials said in announcing his selection for the award.

In addition to his volunteer work at KRFY, Peterson has volunteered with Kaniksu Land Trust as the original “Sasquatch” in order to raise funds to purchase the Pine Street Woods.

Peterson is an advocate for musicians and performing artists, and among his efforts, he created the Little Live Radio Hour in collaboration with the Festival at Sandpoint, in 2022 to showcase the community’s musicians. The result is a monthly show at the Little Panida Theater featuring very exceptional, local acts, giving residents a chance to see the show live or tune in on the radio at 88.6 FM or online at KRFY.org to listen to the show.

“Jack generously lends his time and talent to numerous organizations throughout our community,” chamber executive director Mickey Quinn said in announcing the selection. “Please join the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce in celebrating Jack as Volunteer of the Month.”
