POAC presenting Collision of Rhythm at Panida

| April 23, 2025 1:00 AM

Collision of Rhythm will take to the Panida stage next week.

The dynamic duo is comprised of tap-dancing virtuoso Aaron Williams, and beatbox-juggling, keynote speaker Bronkar Lee. The April 30 performance at the Panida is presented by the Pend Oreille Arts Council. The show begins at 7 p.m.

While there are just two members in Collision of Rhythm, the duo commands the stage as a 12-person ensemble would, filling the space with melodic movement and dynamic depth, moving from instrument to instrument with a high level of skill and diversity. Collision of Rhythm combines world-class entertainment with an inspiring and invaluable message on learning, the growth-mindset, and being ignited by possibility and the exhilarating realization that we are all rhythmical beings.

As COR explains, our conversations, interactions, movements, and basic functioning are all based around tempo, dynamics, and patterns — music, the thread that ties us together. Of course the audience will be entertained — but after this show, they will also be inspired, empowered, full of joy, and pulsing with a fresh understanding that music connects us all.

“This performance will be a delight for the whole family, from the very young to the ‘young at heart’ as rhythm is a language that everyone can understand. Collision of Rhythm will be a big exclamation point for POAC as the final show of our 2024-25 performing arts season!” Tone Stolz, POAC executive director, said.

Collision of Rhythm will also perform a school show for up to 400 students, from first graders to high schoolers, as part of POAC’s Ovations program, prior to the public performance at the Panida Theater. Ovations is free outreach that provides quality educational experiences in the performing arts for students in our community who would not otherwise have these opportunities. A study guide focused on the performers’ artistic themes complements curriculum for students throughout the Lake Pend Oreille School District.

Adult tickets are $25 and youth tickets are $10. They are available at the POAC Gallery, 313 N. Second Ave., downtown Sandpoint; by phone at 208-263-6139; online at ArtinSandpoint.org, or at the box office at the Panida Theater which will open at 6 p.m., a prior to the 7 p.m. showtime.
