McArthur Lake highway improvements are welcome
As a person who has driven U.S. 95 between Bonner Ferry and Priest River most of my adult life, the McArthur Lake area has always been dangerous.
I vividly remember two fatal accidents that have occurred there as well as numerous accidents caused by the tight turns, unpredictable animals, rapid elevation change and too many inexperienced truck drivers.
What a relief it has been to drive through that area now that construction is complete.
It's so much safer.
This project has been on the drawing board for years. And while Rep. George Eskridge, Sen. Shawn Keough and other state leaders made sure construction was discussed, it was Sen. Jim Woodward who got the project over the finish line. Well done!
If you haven't driven north on 95 from Sandpoint and Ponderay lately, consider this an invitation to check out Bonners Ferry and cross one of the best construction jobs around.
