Albert Gunter, 80
Albert Leonard “Al” Gunter, 80, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
Born on April 25, 1944, to Clarence and Jewel Gunter in Sandpoint, he was a lifetime resident of Sandpoint.
He did millwork and mechanics in his earlier years. His passion was tinkering, creating and building things. He had many friends in the community and helped ones in need.
He is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie (Randal II) Middleton of Grants Pass, Ore., and Denise Goughnour of Sandpoint; son, Al Goughnour (Kylie) of Crescent City, Calif.; two brothers, William Gunter of Fruitland, Wash., and Jim Gunter of Sandpoint; two sisters, JoAnn (Randy) Johnson of Garfield, Wash., and Barbara Gunter of Oakesdale, Wash.; four grandchildren, Kirsten Middleton, Randal Middleton III, Jordan Goughnour, and Avagale Goughnour; two great-grandchildren, Jonah Goughnour and Isobel Goughnour; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jewel Gunter; brother Cleadis Gunter; sister Goldie Raynor; and brother Floyd Gunter.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the Eagles Lodge, 1-3 p.m. in Sandpoint, Idaho. All who knew him are welcome to join.
