Orchestra presents 'Celebrating Family' concert

The Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra will present "Celebrating Family" on Saturday, featuring a collaborative performance with the Coeur d'Alene High School Orchestra.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Schuler Performing Arts Center, North Idaho College. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.

A pre-concert lecture, "Dialogues with Danh: The Story Teller's Art," starts at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Philip Baldwin and music therapist Judith Pinkerton will discuss the evening's repertoire and music's impact on mental health.

The program includes works by Melody Hough, Giuseppe Verdi, Edward Elgar, Bedřich Smetana, George Frederick McKay, and selections from Broadway musicals, concluding with John Philip Sousa's Liberty Bell March.
