Reasons for protest were many, varied

Bruce Johnson stated in his letter (June 17, Daily Bee) that our little protest June 14 has him baffled. 

Well, if you and most like you, cared to do just a touch of research before spouting off you would know that June 14 was not about just the immigration issue. It was a "no kings or dictators" protest.

While Trump's regimes policy on immigration may have been part of the reason for our protest, the main issue was the overall goal of this incompetent administration. It would take too much room to list everything, so I will speak in generalities. Immigration has been a problem for years, but Trump's approach is like going into a nursery with a shotgun to quiet down the babies. Kidnapping people, even born-and-bred citizens off the street by masked thugs with no due process of law. 

In other matters, he almost daily violates the law and the constitution in his efforts to impose an authoritarian form of government. He himself is a convicted felon who pardons people who support him vocally or financially no matter what they did including 1,500 murdering thugs who stormed the capital 4-plus years ago who were lawfully convicted of insurrection and subversion. Not to mention bribe taking from other countries and blatantly using his office for self-enrichment all the while increasing our debt for the benefit of billionaires to the detriment of the average citizen.

Then there was the ridiculous taxpayer financed multi-million dollar parade that only 7,000 people attended even as he routinely disparages veterans.

Bottom line Bruce, do a little digging before spouting off on matters of which you obviously have little or no knowledge.
