June 5, 1975 – 214 SENIORS GRADUATE
Before a packed house, the class of 1975, 214 strong, walked across the SHS gymnasium stage to receive their diplomas Monday. The ceremonies were briefly marred by the impromptu appearance of a “streaker” who flashed across the gymnasium floor and out a side door during introduction of a guest speaker, who quipped that he had a tough act to follow. The remark produced a roar of laughter and the rest of the ceremonies went off without a hitch.

FISHING STILL SLOW; SOME ARE LUCKY
The late run-off continues to cloud the lake, so fishing on Pend Oreille has not come close to reaching its peak. But there are a few lucky anglers out there. When four-year-old Denise McIntire’s father, John, took her out fishing last weekend, the Kamloops weren’t biting, so they handlined for Kokanee. When they finished, John was empty-handed, but only because he had been kept so busy with Denise’s pole. She caught 22 Kokanee, proving you don’t have to be an old hand to catch fish.

NEW HOSPITAL WORK PROGRESSING
Work of remodeling the old Farragut dispensary is proceeding well; the contractor is stuccoing the east wing’s exterior this week. Other remodeling will be undertaken as funds become available. To date, the board has expended approximately $50,000 for the building, moving costs, foundation, architect’s fees and other costs. An estimated $60,000 more is to be raised in a drive which will start in early June.
