Walk for Wishes North Idaho set for June 7

Make-A-Wish Idaho will hold a Walk for Wishes North Idaho fundraiser Saturday at Riverstone Park.

Participants can dress up in costumes for a 1-mile walk, a press release said. The event will also feature family fun and refreshments.

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the amphitheater with the walk starting at 10:30. 

It is free, but participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 to earn an official event T-shirt. 

Funds will go to grant wishes for local children with critical illnesses.

There are 13 wish kids in North Idaho who are waiting for wishes, the press release said. 

The average cost of a wish is $10,000 and Make-A-Wish Idaho hopes to raise $67,000 from the walk.
