Glenda Mae Bailey, 73
Glenda Mae Bailey, 73, Sagle, Idaho, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 31, 2025, at her home with family.
She was born Aug. 14, 1951, in Spokane, Wash., to Byron E. Russell and Joyce Whetsler Russell. At an early age she moved with her family to Clarkston, Wash. She attended all 12 years of school and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1969. She began working at local pharmacy after high school. She met her husband, Randy Bailey, that summer. They were married Nov. 14, 1970.
Glenda devoted her life to being a wife, mother and grandmother. During the early years of marriage, they moved their family several times. Glenda made a beautiful loving home everywhere they went and settled for the last 35 of their 54 years together in Bonner County. A place where she spent her childhood summers with her grandparents and made some of her fondest memories crick fishing and recreating.
She was especially talented at gardening, canning, landscaping, home creations and passing on family history. They spent many hours boating on the lakes of North Idaho. She loved to camp with family and friends and having fun was a serious endeavor for her. Glenda enjoyed raising her two sons and watching them achieve in life and mature into good men. She was blessed to have five grandchildren who constantly dazzled her as they grew.
She battled many health issues later in life and stood up to each with courage and tenacity. Some might say her life was too short, but it was complete.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Bailey of Sagle; sons Chad Bailey, Sandpoint, and Ryan Bailey, Kootenai; sister Gayle Schumacher, Clarkson, Wash.; brother Jeff Russell, Rathdrum, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Gary Russell and Bud Russell.
