Kylekelly to open for Neon Tree at Festival show
Emerging pop-rock artist kylekelly will open for Festival at Sandpoint headliners Neon Trees on Thursday, July 24, at War Memorial Field, pairing the established Utah band with one of music's most promising new voices.
Fresh off their fifth studio album "Sink Your Teeth" (2024), Neon Trees promises to deliver the dynamic performance that has made them festival favorites across the country. Lead vocalist Tyler Glenn describes the new album as their most honest work yet, born from the creative isolation of pandemic times but reaching beyond that moment to capture universal feelings of anxiety balanced with hope.
"The songs do contain some of the anxiety and existential crisis I was feeling, but there's also a thread of hope," Glenn explains about the album that spawned the debut single "Favorite Daze," a track that bridges the band's classic sound with a more modern, polished edge.
The Utah-based band has built an impressive resume since their 2010 debut album "Habits," performing at major festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful and Bottle Rock. They've shared stages with genre-spanning acts from My Chemical Romance to Taylor Swift, while also headlining their own sold-out tours. With one billion streams under their belt and over 40 million TikTok views, Neon Trees continues to prove their staying power in an ever-evolving music landscape.
Opening for the headliners is kylekelly, a New Jersey-born, New York-raised singer-songwriter who transforms everyday anxieties into "irresistible and identifiable pop-rock anthems." After captivating audiences on tour with Daniel Seavey, kylekelly released his 2025 EP "a melancholic romcom," produced by industry veterans Jeffery David and Brandon Paddock.
"I try to address concepts that people typically don't want to discuss," kylekelly says of his approach to songwriting. "I'm writing about things that aren't fun to admit—mostly so I can get them off my chest."
The multi-instrumentalist's journey began early, starting piano at age three and picking up guitar at 13. His musical palette, initially shaped by Disney soundtracks and Green Day, expanded to include influences like The 1975, The Cure, and U2. After six years in New York City's music scene, he relocated to Los Angeles and gained traction with tracks like "my little heart <3," "Priscilla," and "OMG."
The July 24 show will feature a general admission standing and dancing area in front of the stage, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and music beginning at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are priced at $69.46 including taxes and fees.
The Festival at Sandpoint, a non-profit organization, hosts its annual Summer Series from July 24 through Aug. 3, 2025. Tickets and additional information are available at festivalatsandpoint.com.
