SANDPOINT — If you're in need of a little legal advice and aren't sure what to do, an upcoming law day event at the Sandpoint Library may be the first step you're looking for.

Offered by the McDonough Law Group, the free legal day is being held Tuesday, July 1, at the Sandpoint Library, 1407 Cedar St.

Whether you have questions about family law, business, real estate, estate planning or civil litigation, McDonough Law Group attorneys will talk to individuals and give personalized advice and outline potential legal options.

Appointments are 45 minutes long and take place in a private room at the library.

There is no stipulation on topics covered by the consultation, but those taking part must be registered. This ensures that individuals have dedicated time with the attorney, said the library's Joyce Jowdy.

A similar event held by the law firm this spring was well-received by both library patrons and the law firm.

"Everyone I talked to said that the consultation helped them know what to do next or how to move forward on what their issue was," Jowdy said.

To register, go to ebonnerlibrary.org/events and select "Free Legal Day." Click the "register" button to book an appointment through the McDonough Law Group booking site. Appointments are required; no walk-ins are allowed.

The firm's Marc Summers will also be hosting a seminar on estate planning later the same day. Set for 5:30 p.m., registration is not required for the seminar.

The seminar will also be streamed live via Zoom, giving residents the chance to watch from home. The Clark Fork Library will also be streaming from the facility, giving everyone a chance to attend the seminar.

To participate in the seminar, go to join.zoom.us. The meeting ID is 553 253 8875, and the passcode is CF1NPh.
