SANDPOINT — Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash that is believed to have occurred on the evening of Sunday, March 9, or morning hours of Monday, March 10, near Sandpoint.
A passenger car, driven by a 43-year-old female, was westbound on Colburn Culver Road approaching the intersection with U.S. 95 at a high rate of speed, ISP troopers said in a press release. The vehicle crossed over U.S. 95, left the roadway, and ultimately came to a stop in a nearby pond. The driver was wearing her seatbelt and succumbed to her injuries on scene. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
U.S. 95 was not blocked. Next of kin notifications are underway and being handled by the Bonner County Coroner’s Office.
