40 Under 40 class of 2025 honored Wednesday evening

COEUR d’ALENE — Standing among the 40 Under 40 Class of 2025, Dalton Cone with The North Spork couldn’t help but feel inspired.

“It’s definitely an honor to be grouped with a lot of influential people,” Cone said. “It feels like a responsibility in a way. It makes me feel like I should continue to aim high.”

Forty of North Idaho’s finest were honored Wednesday evening at the Best Western Plus Coeur d’Alene Inn for — as Hagadone Media President Clint Schroeder put it — their talent, tenacity and spirit.

“This is a room full of leaders that are the future already,” Schroeder said in his address to the honorees. “They’re not just talking about it."

40 Under 40 honorees ranged from local business owners to innovators, from nonprofit leaders to journalists.

The ages of the honorees were just as varied. While some were on the cusp of 40, others were barely coming into their 20s.

For some, the night was a celebration of teamwork: Honorees Ali Baranski and Tess Howell, both with Festival at Sandpoint, were most excited to be honored together.

“We’re super grateful for the honor and to be recognized for our work,” Baranski said. 

“(Especially) to be honored alongside my boss,” Howell added.

Schroeder emphasized that success is not necessarily defined by one’s resume or title.

“You found your own rhythm,” Schroeder said. “May you continue to rise, and may North Idaho rise with you.”
